FIRE AT O.P. HOME
LONDON, January 20
There were exciting scenes at a fire in the City of London -Institution, situated on Bow Road. There were two hundred aged, bedridden men and women at the institution, some of whom, are blind.
The inmates were liurrieldy wrapped in blankets and were carried out. Sixty nurses, who were available for rescue work, placed the patients on wheeled chairs, or wheeled out the beds themselves to safety. Meanwhile two hundred firemen with twenty engines were working on the burning block. Tney put out the fire in two hours.
