WOMAN DROWNED

TEMUKA, January 14
While bathing at Burke’s Pool at the Opilii Reserve yesterday, Airs Smith, wife of Air 11. H. Smith, of Washdykc, was drowned. Her lius'band missed her and later saw her floating under the surface of the water. The body was brought to the It'ank, artificial .respiration was applied and Dr Alelnnes, of Temuka, was sent for, but the efforts torestore life failed.
DOUBLE ACCIDENT
NAPIER, January 14. Dr. Brewis, of Hamilton, had both his legs injured in a double accident a few mile s north of Napier yesterday when liis car met and collided with another car.
After surveying the scene of the accident, Dr Brewis returned to his ear to secure a camera view and was tauing a photograph when a third car collided with the second car, owned and driven by Mr Hamlin, of Paeroa. The blow was so severe that the door of Dr Brewis’ car was swung shut, catching both his legs. The extent of his injuries is not known, as Dr Brewis went on to Hamilton after treatment. The third ear was owned by unknown Aluoris.
