PLANE SMASH
MACHINE * DAMAGED (Per Press Association, Copyright). LEVIN, January 15. Disaster overtook an aeroplane last evening, when leaving Tararua Road aerodrome it crashed from a height of 100 feet. Owing to the rudder bar jambing and the pilot momentarily losing control, a steep nose dWe resulted. The plane is a Harmes engined Avro Avian, and was piloted by A. Greenaway of Levin, with J. Kane of Masterton, as a.passenger, en route to Palmerston North. Both occupants suffered. shock and bruises, and Kane a broken nose, but the injuries are not serious. The machine was very badly damaged.
