LORD B. POWELL

TRIBUTE BY THE TIMES. LONDON, January 12. It was a happy thought, .says the Times in a leading article, to include the first international Scout jamboree outside Europe in the \ ietorian ( catenary celebrations. The jamboree is a welcome reminder of the internationalism of the Scout movement, and of its great work in demolishing ;tho barriers of national rivalry and co-operating in a common idea.

The High Commissioner for Australia, Air S. M. Bruce, at a luncheon' in September, paid tribute to the Scout movement as the most supreme agency in the direction of world peace. 'Plus,

comments the Times, may be the language of enthusiasm, but all will agree that Lord Baden Powell has made the largest contribution of our time to the peace and happiness of nations.
