BITTER COMMENT

BY FRENCH PRESS

AGAINST GERMAN DECISION.

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. )

(Received this day at 11.10 a.m.) PARIS, January 11.

The Newspapers comment bitterly on the refusal by Germany to consider the desirability of being represented on the League Council, when the result of the Saar Plebiscite will be under discussion.

M. Portinax in the “Eclio do Paris” says Germany i s trying to intimidate 'the League and stifle, opposition in the Saar. That explains M. Nc'urath’s almost insolent reply. Herr Hitler and his Minister, fearing a division of Saar territory, hope to frigliiten Geneva by refusing before hand to co-operate. - “1.0 Jour” attributes the German attitude to a feeling that she can ihtrigiic. more easily outside of t|he League.
