Air Roberts, secretary of the Now Zealand Waterside AVorkers’ federation states that new proposals relating to rates of pay were submtted to the ballot of waterside workers’ throughout the Dominion. -The papers were returnable by December 31 last. The result of the ballot is that the proposals were accepted and the new agreenint ha s been in operation since January 7. Under the agreement the nie n receive 2s 2d an hour for general cargo work. The increase is retrospective to September 27.
