DUNEDIN, January 10
An interesting feature of Saturday morning's function, at which the Duke will lay the foundation stone of the new post office, is to bo the presentation to him of a miniature gold model of the building into the roof of which is set an inkwell. The model, which is being presented to the Government, is mounted on a base of Illuff granite, the same as that used for the facings of the '.structure. The front bears two goltl racks and a pen and also a crown. Two sides are adorned with the crest of his Royal Highness and the New Zealand coat, of arms, and on the hack there is a gold plate bearing an inscription. The whole has been exquisitely designed and executed, the stone being cut, dressed and polished h.v the Fletcher Construction Company, while the complete designing and manufacturing of the model, which weighs 250 z, lias been the goldsmith’s art of Mollor and Sons, Dunedin.
