A SPECIAL STAMP ISSUE

.WELLINGTON, January 10
A special scries of postage stamps will be issued in New Zealand to mark the 'Silver Jubilee of Hie .Accession of Their Majesties. Th e design, by Mr J. Berry, Wellington, has bvn lycepted. and the new stomps will be issued in throe denominations, half-penny, penny and sixpence. The design, which is the same for the three denominations. incorporates distinctive New Zealand features in .Maori curving and the Southern Cross. The left ha'lf of the stamps will carry a portrait of Queen Mary, and the light half a portrait of the King.
