VISITOR’S OPINION

(Per Press Association.— Copyright.) AUCKLAND, December 6.

A conviction that New Zealand has no defence problem, as long as Singapore base is maintained, was expressed by Admiral P. W. Dumas, retired, who arrived to-day on a health trip. He said . Australia and New Zealand had n h immediate defence problem. In his opinion they had ten to 15 years in which to make prosperity. .To be successful in an offensive in this part of the woild, a foreign nation would have to break the enemy’s line .of communication. Speaking on . the European situation, he said there might fie trouble in the soring over the plebiscite.
