, Chapman, speaking at a dinner at the savoy Hotel, when Sir Walter Lawltepcc’s trophy commemorating the fastest century -of the season was presented to Woolley for 100 in sixtythree minutes against Northants, recalled that Woolley when wicket keeping in the- final test, caught Bradman but was so pleaded with himself that lie forgot to appeal, which showed his broadmindedness.
Woolley interviewed, said the incident occurred when Bradman in the first- innings had scored five. Sutcliffe was '.about to appeal, but I stopped him. Bradman subsequently told me the ball came off his glove and he might have been out.
