With an emphasised keen desire for peace the delegates to the Empire Seivice League conference yesterday agreed* to a motion of Mr Perry (New Zealand), urging Britain to increase the sea, land and air defences, and guard the national honour. Mr Perry spoke as.' a delegate from one of the most vulnerable parts of the Empire. He said Britain had reduced h'er defences :tp such an extent as to have iinperillled the safety of the Empiie. It 1 was possible that the present nav j was inadequate to protect the trade route.
