BLENHEIM, November 9. A A Tory Chanel whaling party harpooned ’tC ■- large y~ whale .from- the launch “Cachelot,” and the mammal sounded, but it came up . the launch, throwing; the craft high in the air, while the shock exploded » spare bomb in the launch. Mr Joseph Perano, the leader of the party, who was operating t e harpoon, was right over the bomb. He was severely injured, a large paft of his thigh and his back muscles being torn away. The harpoonline was hurriedly severed, and the _ launch in a sinking condition, made at full speed for the ' beach,' which .it reached.in the nick of time. - ' 1 ;
