MONTHLY MEETING

The Hokitika Borough. Council met last evening at 8 o’clock. : Present: Mr G. A. Perry (Mayor; in the chair), Crs. T. W' Buff, J. King, E, Teichelnrann, G Heinz and A. C. Armstrong. Apologies for absence were received from Crs. Cuttance, Thompson ' and ■Elcock.

From J. A. Murdoch, and others, asking that the footpath on the east side of Sab Street, between Stafford and Weld Streets, be attended tq, a s it is in a very unsatisfactory condition. --Received; referred to Public" Works Committee. •

From Prime Minister, acknowledging Council’s protest against the provisions contained in section 17, sub-sections 2 and 3 of the Transport Law Amendment Act, 1933, and stating that the resolution will receive the fullest consideration.—Received. ’
