HOKITIKA BOXING ASSOCIATION

(To the Editor.)

Sir, during the last two years you will have noticed, and with reason wondered at-, the absolute lack of interest our Boxing Association has shown toward the noble sport which they administrate. The last bout which boxing fans hlad the pleasure of witnessing was between Johnny Leckie and Harry Johns. Since then, owing ' to the undivided interest shown by some of the Association members towards football, boxing has been cOjnpletely forgotten. I would like to suggest that a meeting be called to discuss the possibility of holding another tournament, or whether to hand over the reins to tfoine more capable and enthusiastic citizens. Surely the members of the Association .recognise the fact that the talent for boxing, and many willing instructors, are to be found, even in .this town. Trusting chat this ilittlo .reminder will evoke a hew lease of life towards iboxing, I r-m etch SKY THE TOWEL.
