Federal Minister 1 of Commerce, Mr Stowart, has announced that esti* mates of the possible exports of meat from Australia Britain during the six months ending 193 A have been forwarded to .the British Government. Th© estimates, he states, provide for an increase of th© volume of exports in .comparison •wifG' previous years, and he’ anticipated that these will be acceptable to the British Government.

Mr Stewart emphasised that the feeling in Australia, is * completely against either a duty or a restriction on the Australian meat exports, and that the British Government ha s been informed that either will be contrary to all of the. principles of Australian development. Such a policy will ' be resisted to the utmost of its capacity by the Commonwealth Government.
