N.R. A. ADMINISTRATION DEFIED. NEW YORK, July 7. The Harriman hosiery mills at Harri;maii (Tennessee) were closed to-day, in defiance of the order? o’f the National Recovery Administration to conduct an emp oyec-s’ election to determine -who should represent them in collective bargaining and otherwise t. 6 obey the provisions of the textile code. The management posted a -notice stating: “The action of General Jonnson and the N-R-A. have convinced us that they intend to wreck this concern and make its operation impossible.” More than 600 men were thrown out of work recently, after a long controversy with the administration in AVasnington.
An 'order has been given for the removal of the company’s “Blue Eagle - ’ insignia, which denotes thjt a c-oneem is co-operating with the N.8.A1.
