RARE VISITOR.
— SEAL AT WELLINGTON iVtr Press Association — Copyright i WELLINGTON, July 7. A rare visitor to New Zealand, a crab-eating seal, crawled out of the Hutt River to-day, into a paddock, and was an object of curiosity to many visitors. The seal was inspected by Dr W. R, B. Oliver, of the Dominion Museum, with a view to it being sent to the Zoo, but it was found to be sick, so it was left where it was found. The seal is about six feet long. > Very few crab-eating seals have been found in New Zealand, they have generally come ashore because they were sick.
