MURDER TRIAL
THE WAGGA SHOOTING CASE (Australian Association). SYDNEY, June 19. Mrs Lillian Anderson was at the Criminal Court on trial to-day for the murder of her husband near Wa.gga. The jury were unable to agree. Tliev were locked up for the night. Mrs Anderson, ill the course .of her defence, [start]ed itbe Court by declaring that her late husband told her that be had murdered Percy Smith, for which Edward Morey has been convicted and sentenced to death. .
Mrs Anderson also denied murdering her husband. She added: “If 1 shot him, it must have been an accident.” ~
Edward Morey was brought from gaol. He declared that he did not know Mrs Anderson. He had never seen her in his life.
The Crown Prosecutor doserihod s Anderson’s defence as being cowardly and an insult to the intelligence of the jury.
