The Congressional Committee, alter four months’ investigation of the Military Aviation Department, issued a sensational report to-day making charges .of corruption and inefficiency, of purchases of aircraft and equipment “endangering .adequate (national defence.”

Without charging him with dishonesty 1 the Committee recommends that Ala jo i’-C cme rid Benjamin Foulois, chief of the Army Aim Corps, be removed for “gross misconduct and inefficiency. .It is claimed that he was largely responsible' for the _ Army’s fiasco m carrying the air mail. ; During the Committee’s hearing. it M- a s intimated that home flying officials received bribes from aeroplane manufacturers for favouring thc-ir products. This was conveyed in devious manners. It was alleged, that in several cases manufacturers’ representatives engaged officials in “friendly” games of poker land almost invariably lost large sums.
