LOVE OF COUNTRY
THE VICE-REGAL EXAMPLE “GOOD NEW ZEALANDERS” AUCKLAND, June 14. Warm appreciation of what the Governor-General, Lord Blcdisloe, and Lady Blcdisloe have done to foster Jove of New' Zealand was expressed by Mr 11. G. R. Mason, ALP., at the .(freeplanting ceremony performed by Their Excellencies at Titjrangi yesterday. “Their Excellencies have keenly, interested themselves in all things of a distinctively native character, especially ,u-di and bird life,” said Air Mason. “Although they have not been with us many years, they have proved themselves far hotter New Zealanders than most of us who have been here-a life-
time. It is regrettable that so many of us are in need of being taught to be good New Zealanders. “Their Excellencies, through this, have established .themselves in Die i hearts of the people of this country, i We, the inhabitants, should rejoice in the characteristic features of New Zealand and take a pride in all forms of its native life. In teaching us this lesson, Lord and Lady Blcdisloe have done us all a great service. We thank them especially on this occasion for setting a good example 'to the community.”
