Before a big house to-night, there was a contest ftar (the light-heavy- : weight ’UnJing .champiiondup lofl the Dominion between Ray Nicol (Ohai), the holder, and Eddie Parker (Timaru), the challenger and former holder. Jt resulted in a draw, The bout was not spectacular. Nicol appeared to have a comfortable margin at the finish, land the decision came as a surprise to a large section of the audience.
