DANCING EVENTS. In connection with tlie sports a competition for Highland dancing was held on Friday evening at the Memorial Hall, followed by the Sports hall, which .proved very successful. The Melody Makers provided the music for the.bail. The following are the dance results: Highland,. Fling: Mae Stewart (50 points) 1, Patricia White (49) 2, Stella Keating and Alargaret Sinclair (eqiual) 3. Also competed: Joyce IjlcNahb, Alarjorie Stewart. Sailors’ Hornpipe: Stella Keating (53) 1, Mae Stewart (50) 2, Margaret Sinclair and Kathleen Wallace (equal) 3. Irish Jig: Stella Keating 1, Patricia White 2, Margaret Sinclair 3. Also competed: Kath. Wallace, Audrey Lee, Coral Reedy, Mae Stewart.
The. Club’s .medal for the greatest number of points was won by Stella. Keating.
In presenting the prizes the Mayor (Mr H. Hamei') expressed thanks to Air ( R. B. Collett for judging and Aliss Jessie Spiers, accompanist, for their very successful efforts THE SPORTS.
