TRAMWAY RATE

LEVIED IN CHRISTCHURCH (Per Press Association, Copyright), CHRISTCHURCH, May 3; The Christchurch Traimvays Board to-night decided to give notice of its intention to levy a general rate of three-sixteenths of a penny in the pound, on the capital value, to produce £29,167, and a special rate to produce £8,505.

A special meeting to levy the rate will-he held on May 19. The total rate Avoiild be a fraction less than a.farthing in the pound. The chairman, the Rev. J. K. Archer, said that it might be found before May 19 that it Avould not- be necessarv to levy the special rate.
