NO BREACH OF OTTAWA PACT STATEMENT BY HON. J. G. COATES (Pot Press Association — Copyright.) HAMILTON, May 2. Sneaking at a political gathering at Morrinsviile last, night, the Hon. J. G. Coates made the statement that the increased exchange was not a broach of the Ottawa agreement, but was the result ol various factors. The raising of the exchange gave a margin. There had been no marked increase in the cost cf living. He added that a diversion of trade from the United Kingdom to Australia was not caused by New Zealand’s action.
