LIQUOR- SOLD AT CABARET (Per treat issoemtion — Copyright j ' WELLINGTON, March 20. Penalties amounting to £25 were imposed on Stanley Dowdall List, of the Crow’s Nest cabaret at Island Buy, in reserved judgment to-day on charges of selling, and keeping liquor for sale i u a. no license area. List was also convicted for keeping a cabaret open on Sunday to transact business, but as lie thought a genuine question of law was involved the magistrate (Mr Page) made an order for the payment of, costs 0n1y,.,., .- r - „- rr - Mr Page said lie thought the owner of a cabaret in a no-license area, whose servant supplied liquor .to customers, was liable for such an act if it was within the general scope of the servants employment.
