AUSTRALIAN SIRE POISONED (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, March 20. One of Australia’s greatest sires, Kosscndale, is dead. His death was due to blood poisoning, through a rusty nail in his hoof. Rossondale, which was purchased cheaply in 1021 in England by Mr J. E. Prion, got many important winners, including Rampion, Winalot, Jocelyn and Maple. His progeny last season won 77 races, and £15.013 in stakes. Mr J. Foster, of Gulgong, repurchased Rossendalc for 0,500 guineas at the dispersal sale of the Kingslield Stud.
