LARWOOD PLACES ORDER. PREVENTION OF JARRING. LONDON, March 13. The Daily Mail says that Larwood, the English fast bowler, is already tiding out his injured toe in preparation for the heavy summer's howling ahead. Re is gradually accustoming it to the jarring effects «f his fast run and final jump by reproducing the performance ,jn a special pair of walking boo.'s with cushioned insoles. Re has ordered cricket boots of the same type, the maker of which says that the boots are several ounces lighter and slightly longer than those used in Australia- They have a ball joint sunk land cushioned to prevent jarring. He added that except for the injured big toe and a very wide foot, Larwood’s feet were normal and healthy, and ought easily to go through the season. Dr Gould, honorary secretary of the No.tinghmshire County Club, said at the annual meeting that :t was hoped that Larwood would be completely fit at the beginning of the season. He said that the hookings for the Test mamh at Trent Bridge gave promise of a record gate.
