The sequel to ,a fatalLy at Kaikoura on New Year’s Day, when James GibS'Oin aged 61, was killed, was heard in the Kaikoura Court. Francis Hendry, la baker, was convicted of negligently driving a motor car, and fined £SO. The police stated defendant’s car travelled fifty feet along the .gross at the roadside, and struck a post with such force that the post wa s dislodged four inches and split twelve feet up from the ground. The post was of hardwood.
Gibson who was in the car was thrown out. He hit the post and was killed.
