BIG DISPLAY AT HOKITIKA

ARRANGEMENTS FOR SATURDAY

Enthusiasm is again in the ascendancy with the approach of Saturday when the official Sautii Island aero pageant will be held. The keen anticipation will, be fully justified, for patrons' Lavo in store Jor- them .-an entertainment which has so fug not lot of the great majority so far to enjoy, for the holding of these large pageants in the vagi ous centresgives the opportunity each year to enjoy the function. And this year it is our turn.

Much wcl.’k has been done by local enthusiasts to further the 'interests of aviation in the Dominion and in this-, district in. particular, and the £/ranting of the pageant to this district is fitting recognition of their pion eelring services, while it will also give tremendous fillip to aviation in this district in the.futn*e.

Planes from all -corners of New Zealand will be present, representing every aero club acid piloted by men, whose namps have become , known to most through reports of their feats in their respective districts. After Saturday, however, they will mean more than more names to those who witness the pageant, as cne and all will have the opportunity or. ..seeing them in action, performing the. ayrnial manoeuvres in the manner; whidli gained for them a high standard. All classes cf aerobatics, .including stunting, as well ,as formation flights will he displayed, and will satisfy even those who seek sensations.

The importance of the occasion may be guaiged from the fact that the train arrangements have , been altered to meet the occasion, and, boroughs have been asked to observe a partial holiday to enable as many as possible to witness the pageant ,and, altogether, Hokitika may expect one of the largest invasions of visitors it has yet seen. The visitors will •be the principal guests at the Aero Club ball on Friday while on the Sunday there will be an aerial picnic will be held to Waiho.
