MILKMAN’S THEFTS
SENTENCED TO FOUR MONTHS’

CMRrSTCHURCH, November 30
. Thefts extending- from February to November of various goods, including milk bottles, milk, motor tyres, electric light bulbs, all valued at £4O were cleared up when Frederick W alter Trotter, dO years of age, a milkman, pleaded guilty to seventeen charges. He was sentenced by the Magistrate (Mi G. D. Mosley), to four months’ hard labour.
Concerning the theit of the milk bottles, the -police said many of the’ of- * fences were easy to commit, hut difficult to detect. All the theft bad been committed in the early morning rounds. Charles Henry Francis Carr, aged 18, who had been associated with Trotter in a number of thefts, was admitted to probation for two years.
