THE TOWN CLOCK.
(To the Editor.)
Sir.—Can. you tell me who is responsible for the vagaries of that champion liar, the memorial clock in Weld Street?
The four faces generally show four different times ; and the striking not 'infrequently f varies from tall four fakfeS. This no (doubt .'gives it five chances of being right—.but it al s o gives five chances of being wrong. And these are used to full effect.
A ! public clock which tells the wrong time is a public nuisance, and the authority responsible for such should be liable to a penalty sufficient to act as a real deterrent. I shall be grateful if you can publish ail answer to my question.
I am, etc., INHABITANT
