AUCKLAND, October 16,

The body of Mrs Lakey, wife of Mr Samuel Lakey, a farmer, of Rotowaro, near Huntly, was found in a pond this morning. It bad been covered with briar, which partly bid it. Neighbours noticed that the cows bad not been milked, and found both Lakey and his wife missing. Tbe beds bar! not been slept in, and a shotgun, kept in tbe house was not there. A party of Auckland detectives has gone to join in the. search. .
