Renown Collieries, Ltd., which has recently effected a capital amalgamation with Wilton Collieries, Ltd., made a loss of £3,350 during the year ended on July 31. ‘ Tin’s compares with a profit of £434 in the previous year. The report states that during the year there was almost a continuous coal war, in which coal was sold at prices considerably below costs. A debit of £3446 is beina carried forward. Broken Hill Proprietary, ltd., declared a half-yearly dividend of Is per share.
