REFERENCE- TO LORD RANFURLY

WELLINGTON, October 12.
The New Zealand Rugby Union management committee- last night recorded its deep regret at the death of Lord Ranfurlv, and in making reference to the Ranfuiiy -Shield, Air Dean (chairman), said it would serve not only as an indication of Lord Ranfurly's interest in rugby, but also perpetuate bis memory. As manager of the 1924 team, he added, he would like to mention that Lord Ranfurlv came along to them in England, and was very keen to see the destinies of the tour. The motion of sympathy was passed, and a letter is to lie sent to Viscount Ndrilil.an-d in terms to indicate what Lord Ranfurlv had done for rugby in New Zealand.
