FIRST STAGE OF KING’S PRIZE

SYDNEY, October 11

At the rifle meeting, the first stage of the King’s Prize to-day wag won by W. James, of Broken Hill. In the Prince of Wales match he scored the possible at- the last range, 600 yards, which, \vith' a, possible in the [first, and 34 in the second range, .gave him a total of 104. He dropped only one point. F. Curry, of Kiama, was second with 103. The conditions were seven shots each at 300, 500 and 600 yards.

NEW ZEALANDERS’ SCORES. SYDNEY, October 12,

New Zealanders’ scores in the Prince of Wales match were: Lueena 99; Carter 98; each won £l. Ninety-sevens were counted out. The shooting throughout the meeting has been of a very high order.
