“Smilin’ Through” is based on the famous play, and Norma Shearer has the much .coveted dual role of Moonyeen and Kathleen Sheridan. .It is said to be a triumph lor Norma Shearer and for the motion picture world. Predric March, who. plays 01 posite Miss- Shear-er-,-also- ha« a. dual role —Jeremy "Wayne and Kenneth Wayne, the former’s son. Another characterisation gem is that of Sir- John Carta ret, played; by Leslie Howard,' in which" role he enacts-the same man throughout three generations. •O. P. Heggie, Ralph Forbes,:- Beryi Mercer, David Torrence, Margaret Seddon, Forrester HarVey and Cora Sue Collins are also in the big cast. The story of this sweet and poignant romance is well known and the pieturisation is reputed to he even better than the stage presentation or its silent predecessor, which starred Noirina Talmadge. A good "supporting" programme will also be shown.
