EDUCATION MINISTER’S VIEWS

(Per Press Association, Copyright^

WELLINGTON, October 11

| In connection with the raising of the school entrance age, and in the partial modification of the original legislation to provide for the admission and enrolment of children at the commencement of the term during winch they attain the age of six, some doubt has existed as to whether the holidays which immediately follow any school term, shall form part of the term. The Hon. R. piasters said to-day that ho had directed that the vacation which immediately follows any term, shall be regarded as part of that term. A child, therefore, who reaches six before the first school day of the next term, may be enrolled withhi the first, four weeks of the term in which he or she reaches six.
