RE4APPOINTMENT,'OF MEMBERS. (.Per Press Association Copyright.}

WELLINGTON, October 10. The re-appointment ( of; Messrs E. Newmap, C.M:G.,' of Marion, and 0. W. Reid, of Dunedin/ as members of the Government Railways Board for a further period of two years , was announced this evening by the Prime Minister. Their terms■ date from June 9 last, on which date, they completed their original two years’ appointments.

Under the Government“ Railways Amendment Act, passed in 1931. provision was made :for a Railways Board of five members, two of whom were to be appointed for two years and two of three years. The remaining office,, that of chairman, was 'a four-year aopointment. The two members appointed for three vears were Mr I>. Reese (Christchurch). and Sir Jas. Gunson (Auckland). Their terms will expire on 4 next, and that of U'6 chairman, Mr H. H. Sterling ,in 1935.
