Th e Australian Press Association’s Bradford correspondent reports that the question of the unsuitability of New Zealand (Romney wool has again been raised, following on experiments on a Scottish estate with Corriedales, the use of which in New Zealand, Yorkshire manufacturers are advocating. One expert declares: “The New Zealand Romney wool is absolutely unsuitable for our purposes It varies in thickness in the same stable, and during spinning, a property which is a very serious thing for the West Riding, whose business is founded on crossbred wool. A number of Corriedales brought to Wembley from New Zealand have been used in breeding experiments with good results. The wool was improved, and a good carcase has been produced, with”an average addition of two pounds of wool per sheep. Samples of Romney and Corriedale wool showing essential differences are being brought to the notice of New Zealand growers.
