PROFESSOR MOLEY RESIGNS DIFFERS WITH SENATOR HULL (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) . NEW YORK, August 27. Professor Raymond Moley, who has been an intimirte adviser of President Roosevelt, resigned on Sunday as As-sistant-Secretary of State. President Roosevelt has accepted the resignation of Prefessor Moley This is the first break in the official family of the United States President. It lias been presaged by an under the surface split in the. State Department between' Professor, Moley and the Secretary of State, Senator Cordell Hull. Professor Moley has explained that his resignation has been prompted by his desire to return to his work of writing, teaching, and politics. Nevertheless,. well-informed . sources assert that irreconilable differences over policy with the Secretary of State, Senator Hull, have caused the . resignation. Professor Moley is recognised a-s being an adherent of the Nationlist doctrine of economic recovery, whereas Senator Hull believes that recovery is possible only through international action.
