M. Boland Coty arid Miss Wright, who was known as “the girl with the gold-studded . car,” owing to the splendour of her HispanorSuiza limousine—became warm friends after they...had met on the. Riviera. M. Coty is married, and has a family of three. It is stated that Mrs Wright, her mother, who has been on a holiday in Belgium, had a- long interview with the. police,, and is. satisfied ..that , her daughter committed.suicide. Therefore, she,.is refraining from pressing for, a further investigation of the affair.
; It is stated from Cannes that Miss Wright frequently , visited the Casino and played for high stakes. A famous painter, Van Dongen, declares lie was attracted by : her figure, features and exquisite hands, and painted her portrait, which is now in his Paris studio.
The girl was a close friend of the Countess Villeneuvo, famous for her lavish hospitality in London. The police questioned four friends of ,M. Coty, and Dr Isellin, who, found Miss Wright lying in the bathroom of the flat with a bullet in her temple and the revolver beside her. He, declared, that the shot must have been fired at very close range. v . • -
It is agreed in Paris that Miss Wright feared a break in her relations with M Coty. The Socialist': newspaper Populaire attacks the police vigorously' for withholding details. Public inquests before a .coroner are.not held in France,.;
