YOUNG STOWAWAY AT
AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, July 14. After spending nearly a irfonth in Mount Eden prison, the German stowaway, Fritz Krenzer, who jumped overboard from the . Mariposa when she wag leaving Auckland: for Sydney on June 16, and swam, ashore, was deported on the; company’s liner Monterey, which, left for .Sydney 1 to-night. To rse-e that he did not escape again, a customs. .. officer travelled on the Monterey to the pilot anchorage. After ascertaining . that .the.- stowaway was still aboard, the . officer , returned to Auckland in the pilot boat.
Extra precautions are being taken to ensure that Ifreuzer • does not escape. After being taken oh board the Monterey by police, he was handcuffed with his hands behind, his back, and later he was securely locked in a special .apartment. He will be kept in a room, handcuffed, until he is hande/l over to the police at 'Sydney.
