Senator Pittman, chairman »i y' fc -Senate Foreign Relations Committee : 'and a member of tne United States delegation to the London Economic Conference, to-day, advocated the rehabilitation of silver, on which -he'said all the nations with which the United States had discussed the subject in international conversations hot'c were in agreement. _ He declared that the price, of' silver should be raised and -substantially stabilised, but no specific price was mentioned,, although it was nnotndaliy placed rat 60 cents an ounce. it was also ‘ proposed that the Governments should agree to alr ; ndo n the policy and practice of debasing sit'd and that the restoration of the fineness of debased coins be brought about as rapidly as practicable, and .also th it tariffs and other obstructions to 0 free movement of silver should be lowered, or eliminated.
