Covering (Western Karamea, Westport, Murchison, Reefton, Greymouth, Hokitika, Otira, Arthur Pass, Ross Okuru, af ribon’ ; to-day The general, inference is that pres-sl.-e i> : still high to the north-east of New Zealand, while the last portion of a:n extensive westerly depression is crossing the South Island. An intense anti-cyclone is'again developing over Australia, so that another spell of south-westerly weather is probable.
The forecast is for strong, westerly winds, backing to south-westerly. The weather : will be squally and changeable with rain; at times! Hail is. probable on in At* of tlie> Coast and snow on the ranges, the temperature becoming colder, and seas rough.
