MAN MAKES STRANGE DISCOVERY

DARGAVILLE, May 15

While walking along the beach at Glink’s- Gorge camp oU the west, coast Mr W. Copedo, of Te Kopuru, disturbed a reptile. It was coiled up, but on being disturbed, immediately made a dart at Mr Copedo, who boat a hasty retreat and secured a stout stick, with which he killed it.

The snake was 30in. long, blue along the hack, with a yellow stripe on eaeli side running straight until reaching the tail, where it ended in a zigzag.'lt is t'o he treated for preservation.
