LAST WELLINGTON SHIPMENT.
DECLINE IN YEAR’S FIGURES.

NELSON, May 16.
The last shipment of fruit to the United Kingdom was forwarded from Wellington yesterday. The total for the season was 724,426 cases against 991,729 last year. The drop was due to this being an off season for orchards however good the conditions. Mr J. H. Brunt, shipping supervisor •anticipates that with suitable climatic conditions,__ next season’s crop in an “on” year, should exceed the present record. Delicious and Statesman cropped particularly well. The falling off was due mainly to light cropping by Stunners. Pear exports rose from 89,000 to 45,960 cases*
