Major W. E. Elliot’s announcement! (as Minister for Agriculture) of the possible restriction of imports of foreign dairy products has caused a sharp advance in butter. Danish is quoted at 96s per cwt; choicest salted New Zealand 78s to 80s; Australian 76s to 78s; unsalted about two shillings premium

Cheese—New Zealand coloured 53s to 545, white 46s to 48s; Australian coloured 50s, white 46s to 475.
