CHRISTCHURCH ELECTIONS.

CHRISTCHURCH, April 20,
A record total of forty-three candidates lias been nominated for sixteen seats on the city council, representing the Citizens’ Association, Labour, Socialists, Communists. The sitting Mayor (hr D. G. Sullivan) is opposed by Mr L, C. Walker (Independent).
31 NOMINATIONS AT WELLINGTON.
WELLINGTON, April 20
Mr T. C‘. A. Hislop, has been reelected Mayor unopposed. There are thirty-four nominations for. fifteen seats on the City Council, including one Communist.
WANG ANUI NOMINATIONS
WANGANUI, April 20.
Two nominations have been received fcr Mayoralty, the present mayor (Mr N. G. Armstrong), and Mr J. T. Hogan. For the twelve seats on the council twenty two nominations have been z-ece ived.
EXTR AORDINARY ELECTION
WELLINGTON, April 20
At Masterton, Mr T. Jordan was re-elected unopposed ng Mayor. Nominations for the council are two short of the required number, and an extraordinary election is thus necessary.
