BANK OF ENGLAND
HUGE PURCHASES OF GOLD.
LONDON, April 19.
The Bank of England has bought £4,465,000 worth of gold from Australia, India and South Africa to-day. This is the largest purchase evermade in a single day. The Bank’s aggregate purchases since January Ist have been £64,170,000.
