The) attention of the Hokitika borough traffic inspector Ims been drawn to the practice of motorists failing to coniorni with the regulations regarding the parking of cars, especially in Re veil Street. Motorists are reminded of the rules regarding the ang.e of parking and the. distance between cars.
Two visitors to Westland at present are Miss H. E. Fountain, recently from India, and Miss D. T. Dannefaerd, lion. sec-, of the Zenana Bible and Medical Mission. They have held meetings at all the chief centres in Westland and are at present at Wniho. Miss. Fountain explained that the mission wits .one for the women and children and was purely interdenominational in character. The mission lur ; twenty stations in India and 400 women workers including evangelist.?, doctors, nurses and teachers. At one hospital alone the figures for last- year were 1400 in patients, of which number 070 wore women living in seclusion. Out patients numbered 8000', and the total attendances at the dispensary, 00,000. The following have been appointed as local secretaries in Westland:—Greymouth, Miss Betty Brown: Tvumara, Miss Ellen Stewart; Hokitika, Miss Mona Robinson; Harihari, Miss Sylvia Berry.
